Guides / Resources for Parents

School Readiness

Starting school is an exciting time but it can be a little scary for both children and parents. Please read the leaflet below, Helping Your Child To Be School Ready,  as it contains useful information about how to be positive with your child when discussing their new start. The leaflet gives guidance on how to achieve the best possible start for both children and parents/carers and how to establish healthy routines before and after school. It also explains the importance of regular attendance and being punctual in the mornings as this helps children to establish friendships, make progress in their learning and allows them to feel safe. Finally and very importantly the leaflet invites parents to get involved. This is key to us here at St John's, we see ourselves as partners and our aim is to work with you to educate our children so that they become the best that they can be.
