Year 3 British Museum Visit

On the 15th of December Year 3 went on an exciting school trip to the British Museum. In class we had been learning about Ancient Egypt and what is was like being an Egyptian at this time.

The day started with an interesting workshop about the afterlife where the children actively participated in bringing the show to life. They had to guide Mr Whale through the various stages of mummification and were able to help him through the tasks awaiting him on his journey into the afterlife. They were keen to share their knowledge by successfully answering the questions.

After lunch the children went into their groups and discovered mummies, detailed tombs, giant statues of Gods, the Rosetta Stone and sphinxes. Most of the children seemed to agree that they enjoyed seeing the mummies the most.
