Year 2 Trip to Museum of London

Year 2 visited the Museum of London on Wednesday 23 rd November. We met at Buckhurst Hill tube station and then travelled all the way to St Paul’s on the Central line. We had two amazing experiences at the museum, Create a Great Fire film, which involved making a short video using an app on an ipad, and the Fire! Fire! Exhibition. Whilst at the museum we were able to handle artefacts that dated back to the fire itself, so we held a leather bucket that was 350 years old. We were able to ask questions about the artefacts and also draw our own conclusions about how and when the artefacts were used. Although year 2 had learnt and knew a great deal about the fire before we visited the museum we were able to learn something new which will form the basis of our next history lessons… how Christopher Wren designed a new London that we still enjoy today. Everyone enjoyed this trip and I did overhear some children saying that they would like to take their parents back to the museum as soon as possible! I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did.
