Friday Round up 6/1/17

Dear Parents,

A very warm welcome back to school and our best wishes for 2017.

After School Activities

Football has already started and all other clubs commence next week.

Staffing

As part of their training our Graduate Teachers are now at another school for five weeks completing a second placement. As such we are hosting three teachers, from our partner schools, here at St John’s in Years 2, 5 and Early Years. I am sure you will join me in welcoming them to our school. As mentioned in a previous Round-Up we have now been joined by Mrs Elaine Freedman as our new Finance Manager. In time you will begin to notice changes to our financial systems including a more rigorous approach to the collection of payments for meals, trips and fees which at present is a very time consuming process. I will keep you updated.

Lost Property

We are displaying the contents of the lost property basket this afternoon after school and on Monday morning. All of it is unmarked and includes some expensive coats and knitwear. Surely someone is missing these? As ever you will gain enormous popularity points if you clearly label all your child clothing and not rely on writing their name in biro on labels as this does wash off. Many thanks for your co-operation in this matter.

Today is the Feast of Epiphany which was the theme of our assembly this morning. Ask your child who arrived on this day?

Enjoy the weekend.

Yours sincerely,

P.J.Tidmarsh
