As a school we follow the White Rose approach to maths that allows children to explore the small steps needed to master mathematical thinking. Children are provided with time to manipulate concrete resources before drawing pictorial representations and then finally going on to solving problems in their abstract form. We provide children with the necessary language to discuss problem solving and how they reach solutions.
