Situated next to The Rectory this outstanding addition to the St John’s site comes complete with a terrace, gravel paths and victorian well.  This is in addition to a thousand square metres of astro turf which can be used throughout the year.

When you appreciate there are nearly 600 schools in Essex that’s a great achievement. Congratulations to the team and Mrs Duff.

A belated welcome back to the Summer term.

Please note that as we move over to electronic communication  much of the information we used to send as paper copies will now be placed on the school website the address of which is at the top of this letter. Announcements can be found by going to About and then Postings.

Please note that to receive emails from the school you will need to have registered with ParentMail by the 1st May. many thanks for your co-operation in this matter.

Curriculum Letter

An outline of your child’s curriculum has been placed on the school website. It will include relevant dates for your child’s class and year group.

Maths Competition

Congratulations to Marcus Leong, Suli Scatchard, Jamie Tyson and Lauren Walker who recently competed in the Essex County Maths challenge and achieved a very creditable second place especially when you remember there are 600 schools in Essex. Congratulations to you all and to Mrs Duff our Maths Co-ordinator for her leadership of the team.

Cleaning Vacancies

Following the completion of our current building we are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking cleaners to join our Premises Staff. The hours are normally  7.00am to 9.00am totalling 10 hours each week Monday to Friday, during the school term time (37 weeks a year) with additional ‘deep clean’ holiday work as required. Salary £6.66 to £6.91per hour. However we may be able to offer some flexibility on the times of working. Please collect an application form from the school office.

The Orchard

This new playground is open and has proved a huge success with the children. Please feel free to pop along and take a look. Landscaping work has been delayed until the Autumn due to the recent watering restrictions.

Cake Sale

Congratulations to everyone involved in the pre-Easter cake sale which raised a massive £580 for Cystic Fibrosis. You should have seen the number of cakes! Thank you for your support is either baking or eating them and 10% of the profit was donated to the PTA.

Secondary School Fair

Loyola Prep School is holding a Secondary School Fair on Thursday 21st June from 6.30 to 8.30pm. There will be over ten, mainly Independent, secondary schools attending. Please let Mrs Bromley know by the 18th May if you would like to attend.

Athletic Team

Congratulations to our Athletics Team who recently achieved second place in the Essex County Indoor Final. Furthermore they have achieved twentieth place nationally in a recently announce national league table! An excellent achievement which the whole team, including Mr Jarmain and Mrs Watkins should be proud of. Details of the league table can be found on the school website.

School Meals Menu

We have a new menu starting on the 30th April a copy of which is…… you guessed it, is on the school website! What did we do before this website?

 

With the opening of our new wing, Arts Week, The Diamond Jubilee, Sports Day not to mention the Olympics it’s going to be a busy and exciting term.
