Admissions Policy
Admissions to St John's School is governed by the admissions policy as
set
by Essex County Council.
Places will be allocated to the school up to the published admissions
number
of 45 for each year group.
There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority
admission areas. In the event of over-subscription, places will be
allocated
using the following criteria and in the order given:

a) children living in the priority admissions area with a sibling
attending
the school
-
b) other children living in the priority admissions area
-
c) children living outside the priority admissions area with a sibling
attending the school
-
d) children living in the priority admissions area of Buckhurst Hill
Primary
or White Bridge Schools who have applied there by the published closing
date, but have not been allocated places
-
e) remaining applications
In the event of over-subscription within any of the above criteria,
priority
will be determined by straight-line distance from home to school, those
living closest being given the highest priority.
 Children are admitted to the school as follows:
Birthdate: 1st September - 31st December commence school full time in the Autumn
Term 1st January - 30th April commence school full time in the
Spring Term 1st May - 31st August commence school part-time in the
Spring Term, full time in the Summer Term
Children who attend the school and then subsequently move out of the
catchment area are still guaranteed a place at the school.
At St John's we welcome prospective parents who wish to view the school
to
make an appointment via the school secretary. The Headmaster is happy to
talk to any prospective parents about the school. Tours of the school are
held every Thursday morning at 9.30am, by appointment. |
