Kwik Cricket Tournament - 8th June 2018

Two teams of boys travelled to Loughton Cricket Club to compete in the annual kwik cricket tournament.  Both teams played amazingly; showing some great skill in bowling, fielding and batting.  Kwik cricket is a very tactical game which involves points being gained for runs and wide bowled balls, and  lost by being caught, bowled or run out.  Therefore,  it is important for the players to think tactically and communicate with each other in order to not lose points.  Over the course of the day, the boys all worked hard and improved on these essential skills; the 'A' team remaining unbeaten in the first round to gain a place in the semi-final.  Unfortunately, they came up against a very strong St. John Fisher team, and even though they fielded brilliantly, were unable to overcome their batting excellence. Not too downhearted they had one more match for 3rd or 4th place finish.  In this match they excelled to win, and gain 3rd place and the bronze medal.
