Copped Hall

On Wednesday 5th July and Thursday 6th July year 2 visited Copped Hall. Copped Hall is a Georgian building with Victorian extensions and is located off the road to Upshire on the way to Epping. The hall has a great deal of history as the estate dates back to the times of Henry VIII and before. Apparently Henry was visiting the Tudor building when Ann Boleyn came to her final end. Also A Midsummer Night's Dream was first performed here for a couple who were getting married.

For our visit we were taken on a tour of the house and then the walled garden which is absolutely beautiful. The garden is filled with flowers and fruits as well as vegetables. We were very lucky and had the most beautiful weather which meant we could have a picnic lunch outside and then sketch the hall afterwards.

Thank you to the parents for dropping their children off and returning to pick them up later in the day.

If you would like to know more about Copped Hall do take a look at their website.
